Tips for Choosing an Ideal Raffle Ticket Tier Distribution
If you’re still in the process of obtaining your raffle license and need help choosing the ideal ticket tier distribution, we’ve done the research for you!
The most effective ticket distribution typically includes:
• A low-priced tier to attract casual buyers.
• A value tier to encourage bulk purchases.
• 1-2 mid-range tiers that offer discounted bundles.
Here’s an example breakdown for a raffle with a $20,000 limit:
In this example, the lower-priced tiers make the raffle accessible to casual buyers, while the 50 for $50 tier provides the best value, encouraging higher spending. This tier is designed to be the most attractive option, accounting for half of the total potential revenue and maximizing overall ticket sales.
Please note that with this approach, we do not recommend offering a ticket tier with a very large number of tickets (i.e., 200 for $50, 500 for $100, etc.). While this may seem appealing, it can create some inefficiencies as purchasers will receive an email with a very large attachment containing all of their ticket numbers. Additionally, it may increase loading times when using the random number generator (RNG).
Another successful approach is offering a single ticket tier (e.g., 1 for $10). This simplifies the purchase process by eliminating comparisons between tiers, making it clear and easy for buyers while maintaining a consistent ticket value.
