Riverhawks Community Foundation Case Study
Summer 2024 saw the Riverhawks Community Foundation (RCF) hit a grand slam as they digitized their fundraising efforts and raised over $131,000! Powered by Launch57’s fundraising products: Raffle Rocket, Bid Beacon, and CommuniBee Suite, the RCF leveraged each product to raise funds and support youth sports in the Edmonton region.
Over the course of the Riverhawks season, the Community Foundation held 26 raffles (50/50 jackpots), one for each home game. The Foundation planned ahead and would apply for multiple raffle licenses in advance. This helped streamline the administrative work and made sure each raffle was set up well in advance.
The modern approach of running online 50/50 raffles allowed the Community Foundation to dramatically increase the reach and engagement of each raffle. So long are the days where only fans in attendance could participate. The online raffle format made it so fans throughout Alberta could partake and have a chance at winning 50% of the game-day jackpot.
During games, each raffle was promoted through the stadium by volunteers and the PA announcer to keep fans up to date and drive ticket sales. As a result, the 26 raffles raised over $121,000, half of which was split among the 26 winners!
